About the Role
The Department of Defence is actively seeking a dedicated Assistant Director: Administration (Personal Staff Officer) to join their team in Erasmuskloof, Pretoria. This pivotal role involves providing administrative support to the Chief Director of Strategic Management within the Defence Policy, Strategy and Planning Division. What You’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Chief Director of Strategic Management.
- Plan and coordinate visits, meetings, functions, and conferences.
- Act as the primary liaison between the Chief Director and other stakeholders.
- Ensure quality control of all work submitted to the office of the Chief Director.
- Manage and oversee the budget and business plan for the office.
- Handle the management of assets and resources within the Chief Director’s office.
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent, along with a recognized Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Public Management, Public Administration, Office Management, or a relevant qualification at (NQF Level 7).
- A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in Administration.
- Strong knowledge of the Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, and relevant departmental policies.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in financial and project management, with intermediate knowledge of strategic planning.
- Computer literacy in applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Good interpersonal skills with a strong service orientation, integrity, and professionalism.
