What You’ll Do

  • Manage the financial planning, budgeting, and reporting processes within the sub-directorate.
  • Monitor compliance with financial policies and legislative frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures that align with best practices.
  • Provide guidance and advice on forecasting methods and tools to stakeholders.
  • Oversee the preparation and quality assurance of budget documents and management accounting reports.
  • Coordinate and assess requests for roll-overs, adjustment estimates, and virements.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration within the team and with external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit administrative reports as required by the department.
  • Manage performance and development opportunities for team members.

What You’ll Need

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Financial Management or Management Accounting (NQF level 7).
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in Management Accounting at an Assistant Director level.
  • Strong knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to analyse financial data and develop sound recommendations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ethical conduct in financial management.
  • Capability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively in a team environment.
