About the Role
The South African Navy is seeking a dedicated Administration Clerk Supervisor to join their team at SAS Simonsberg in Simon’s Town. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Media Centre, where the production of training materials and management of training aids directly contribute to the effectiveness of military training initiatives. By overseeing a small team and handling various administrative tasks, you will be instrumental in supporting the Navy’s mission of excellence in public service.
In this role, you will engage in essential tasks that include the production of training material, the management of procurement processes, and the supervision of staff within the media section. Your work will not only facilitate training but also ensure that resources are efficiently utilised, ultimately enhancing the operational readiness of our forces. What You’ll Do
- Produce a variety of training materials, including charts and certificates
- Provide guidance on training material-related functions
- Manage basic office administrative actions and maintain workflow in the Media Centre
- Supervise staff in the media section, ensuring effective performance management
- Maintain an incident log for personnel within the media centre
- Oversee the procurement process and manage petty cash duties
- Maintain auditable documents produced by the media department
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment for staff and resources
What You’ll Need
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of three years of experience in a Media Centre environment
- Emerging Management Development Programme certificate or similar management qualification is an advantage
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety, First Aid Level 1, and CSW certificates is beneficial
- Proficiency in computer literacy, particularly in MS Office Suite and graphic design tools (Corel Draw, Photoshop)
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to manage workflow effectively in a fast-paced environment
