About the Role
The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is excited to announce a vacancy for the position of Admin Clerk: Monitoring and Evaluation, located in Aliwal North. This role plays a vital part in supporting the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP), which is designed to alleviate poverty and unemployment through the provision of work opportunities and skills development. As an Admin Clerk, you will contribute to the effective implementation and monitoring of various public projects that directly impact the lives of community members in the Eastern Cape region.
In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the evaluation of public bodies reporting on EPWP initiatives, as well as managing project files and preparing comprehensive reports for sector and district meetings. Your efforts will help ensure that resources are utilized effectively and that the projects are aligned with the goals of the EPWP, ultimately enhancing the quality of services provided to the public.

What You’ll Do
- Assist in evaluating the number of public bodies reporting on EPWP within the region.
- Help implement Integrated Grant project lists and manage other project grants.
- Monitor and report on the completeness of project files and monthly reporting.
- Prepare detailed reports for sector and district meetings, ensuring all resolutions are monitored.
- Identify gaps in project implementation and liaise with EPWP Coordinators to resolve issues.
- Provide support in problem-solving and maintaining control with minimal guidance from your manager.
What You’ll Need
- A National Senior Certificate or NQF Level 4 qualification.
- No prior experience is required, making this a great opportunity for new entrants into the workforce.
- Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), DORA, and EPWP Policy is advantageous.
- Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, financial management, policy implementation, and project management.
- Excellent communication, planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills, with a focus on customer and quality management.
