About the Opportunity

The VWGA Bursary Programme is designed for students who will be enrolled full-time in their second, third, or fourth year of undergraduate study during the 2027 academic year. This bursary is exclusively available to students attending a DHET/CHE-accredited tertiary institution in South Africa. Unfortunately, Master’s and Doctoral students are not eligible to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Successful applicants will be required to sign a bursary agreement with Volkswagen Group Africa, which includes a work-back obligation upon completion of their studies. It is crucial for applicants to thoroughly understand and agree to these terms before accepting the bursary.

Requirements/Qualifications

Applicants must be South African-born citizens, entering their second, third, or fourth year of undergraduate study. A Bachelor’s Pass in Grade 12 with a minimum average of 70% is required. At the tertiary level, maintaining a strong academic record is essential. Preference may be given to applicants from designated groups in line with VWGA’s transformation objectives and Employment Equity Plan.

Benefits

The VWGA Bursary covers a range of expenses, including registration and tuition fees, accommodation, meals, books, and stationery. Successful bursars may also receive a laptop for study purposes. Additional support may include vacation work, mentoring, development opportunities, and extra study support where deemed appropriate by VWGA.

Applicants must submit a certified copy of their South African ID, a motivation letter, a comprehensive CV, and a completed online application form. Additional documents may be required depending on the applicant’s circumstances, such as academic transcripts, proof of registration, and more. All documents must be certified and less than three months old.
