What You’ll Do

  • Compile and maintain the movable asset register according to National Treasury guidelines.
  • Conduct routine physical asset verifications to ensure accurate accounting.
  • Monitor the asset disposal process, including write-offs, transfers, and donations.
  • Safeguard assets to prevent loss, theft, or wasteful expenditure.
  • Prepare detailed asset schedules and reports for the Annual Financial Statements.
  • Process capital additions and reconcile asset accounts before month-end and year-end closures.
  • Ensure internal controls are established and respond to audit queries related to government property.

What You’ll Need

  • Senior Certificate / Grade 12, plus three years of relevant experience in Asset Management, Supply Chain Management, or Risk Management.
  • Alternatively, a Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 6/7) in Public Administration, Public Management, or Finance as recognized by SAQA.
  • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Financial Management principles.
  • Proficiency in BAS and LOGIS systems.
  • Strong people management and computer literacy skills, especially in Microsoft Packages.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving abilities, along with sound leadership and interpersonal skills.
