What You’ll Do
- Manage goods and services expenditure, ensuring timely authorisation of payments via BAS, SAGE, and LOGIS.
- Administer suspense accounts and maintain a detailed payment register for all processed payments.
- Ensure all payments are supported with necessary documentation and tracked for compliance within a 30-day timeframe.
- Prepare, capture, and authorise journals while maintaining proper document control for financial records.
- Address and resolve queries from various stakeholders, including clients and internal auditors, enhancing communication across the department.
- Supervise subordinates and ensure adherence to performance management standards while preparing necessary administration reports.
- Provide guidance on financial accounting processes and maintain updated financial systems through regular reconciliations.
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of a three-year tertiary qualification (NQF level 6) in Financial Management, Accounting, Cost Accounting, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in a financial accounting environment, with knowledge of BAS and LOGIS systems.
- Familiarity with Public Finance Management Act and government financial delegations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- A valid Code B (or higher) driving license is required.
- Personal attributes should include trustworthiness, assertiveness, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
