What You’ll Do

• Provide operational and professional leadership in managing social work services within the hospital.
• Supervise and support social workers and students, ensuring compliance with SACSSP and WCDOH guidelines.
• Oversee the delivery of statutory, psychosocial, and mental health services through quality assurance and case reviews.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate record-keeping and reporting in line with governance requirements.
• Manage service statistics, compile reports, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Facilitate in-service training and professional development for staff and students.

What You’ll Need

• An appropriate qualification in Social Work, allowing registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professionals (SACSSP).
• At least 7 years of experience as a registered social worker.
• A solid understanding of relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Care Act and Children’s Act.
• Proven leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to manage teams effectively.
• Excellent communication, report writing, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office and data management systems.
