About the Role
The Department of Border Policing is seeking a dedicated Secretary to join their team at the Border Policing HQ located in Maupa Naga, Pretoria. What You’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive secretarial support to the Component Head of Border Policing.
- Type, administer, and compile reports, certificates, and letters.
- Monitor and manage the flow of documents within the office.
- Handle internal and external communications, including phone calls and emails.
- Coordinate appointments, meetings, and events, ensuring all logistics are arranged.
- Manage the Component Head’s diary efficiently.
- Arrange travel and manage subsistence allowances for the Component Head.
- Oversee general administrative duties to support the office’s functions.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 / Senior Certificate / NCV Level 4 or an equivalent qualification (NQF level 4).
- Proficiency in English and at least one other official language.
- Competency in core functions relevant to the role.
- General computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent planning, organizing, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and willingness to extend working hours when necessary.
- Relevant courses in administration will be an added advantage.
