What You’ll Do

  • Plan, allocate, and monitor daily and weekly work activities for maintenance teams.
  • Prepare work schedules and ensure tasks are executed according to approved plans.
  • Conduct routine road inspections to identify and assess infrastructure defects.
  • Monitor and report illegal activities and encroachments within road reserves.
  • Supervise the safe operation and inspection of departmental vehicles and equipment.
  • Control and account for tools, equipment, and materials issued to maintenance teams.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor work quality, productivity, and compliance with standards.
  • Implement occupational health and safety requirements and investigate incidents.
  • Facilitate on-site training and development for maintenance personnel.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with all obligations and standards.
  • Compile and submit operational reports as required by management.

What You’ll Need

  • NQF Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in Road Work Maintenance.
  • Ability and willingness to work under pressure and long hours.
  • Strong communication skills are an advantage.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and safety.
