About the Role
The Compensation Fund is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to fill the position of Risk Management Committee Chairperson in Pretoria. The Chairperson will not only regulate and discharge responsibilities as stipulated in the Compensation Fund Risk Committee Terms of Reference but will also serve as a member of both the Compensation Fund Audit Committee and the Department of Employment and Labour National Risk Management Committee. What You’ll Do
- Oversee governance and risk management strategies within the Compensation Fund.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards in all operations.
- Collaborate with the Accounting Officer to enhance risk management practices.
- Lead the Compensation Fund Risk Management Committee, providing strategic direction and oversight.
- Serve on the Audit Committee and the National Risk Management Committee, contributing to broader risk management initiatives.
- Promote anti-corruption measures and integrity management within the Fund.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders involved in governance and compliance.
What You’ll Need
- An undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) in Accounting, Risk Management, or Auditing; post-graduate qualifications or certifications are advantageous.
- A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience, particularly in chairing Risk or Audit Committees in large public or private sector institutions.
- Extensive knowledge of Labour, Insurance, Risk Management, Governance, and Compliance Management.
- Familiarity with relevant ISO standards, COSO model, and Public Sector Risk Management Framework.
- Strong leadership and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and challenge the status quo.
- A high level of integrity and commitment to public service values.
