What You’ll Do

• Provide clinical services at the registrar level for Orthopaedic Surgery.
• Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments of patients.
• Manage patients during surgical procedures.
• Oversee post-operative care, including working within the ICU.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
• Participate actively in training and research initiatives.
• Supervise and support other medical personnel and subordinates.
• Adhere to departmental norms and standards in all functions.

What You’ll Need

• An appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
• Current registration with the HPCSA for Independent Practice.
• Ability to participate in after-hours roster work.
• Comprehensive surgical competencies in primary, secondary, and some tertiary trauma orthopaedic procedures.
• Strong commitment to patient care and teamwork.
• Excellent communication skills and integrity.
• Relevant clinical skills, including ATLS and Basic Surgical Principles.
• Proven research experience or completion of research methodology courses.
