What You’ll Do
- Provide clinical services at the registrar level for Orthopaedic Surgery.
- Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments of patients.
- Manage patients during surgical procedures.
- Oversee post-operative care, including working within the ICU.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- Participate actively in training and research initiatives.
- Supervise and support other medical personnel and subordinates.
- Adhere to departmental norms and standards in all functions.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
- Current registration with the HPCSA for Independent Practice.
- Ability to participate in after-hours roster work.
- Comprehensive surgical competencies in primary, secondary, and some tertiary trauma orthopaedic procedures.
- Strong commitment to patient care and teamwork.
- Excellent communication skills and integrity.
- Relevant clinical skills, including ATLS and Basic Surgical Principles.
- Proven research experience or completion of research methodology courses.
