Tygerberg Hospital is seeking two dedicated Registrars in Plastic Surgery. What You’ll Do

• Provide safe and effective Plastic and Reconstructive surgical care to patients.
• Manage peri-operative care for patients undergoing various procedures, including trauma and burns.
• Participate in Intensive Care and High Care management when necessary.
• Engage in the training of interns, medical students, nursing staff, and paramedics.
• Conduct research and audits related to Plastic Surgery and Wound Care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Handle after-hours duties for incoming acute patients and inpatients.

What You’ll Need

• An appropriate qualification allowing registration with the Health Professions Council (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
• Current registration with HPCSA for Independent Practice.
• A valid (code B/EB) driver’s licence.
• Previous clinical experience in Surgery, particularly in Plastic Surgery, Burns, Hand Surgery, and Trauma.
• FCS Part 1 certification and a current ATLS certificate.
• Effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to research and continuous learning in the field of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
