What You’ll Do
- Provide high-quality clinical services in ophthalmology.
- Engage in teaching and training medical students and junior staff.
- Oversee management and administrative tasks within the ophthalmology department.
- Conduct research and participate in professional development activities.
- Manage consulting room provisioning to ensure optimal patient care.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate qualification allowing registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
- Current registration with the HPCSA for independent practice.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with patients and colleagues.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Clinical and surgical experience in ophthalmology, including proficiency in basic cataract surgery.
- Computer literacy for patient care, research, and administrative tasks.
- Completion of FC Ophth (SA) part 1A (Papers 1 & 2).
- Willingness to commit to required overtime.
