What You’ll Do
- Provide safe and effective imaging services for patients.
- Learn and apply the principles of diagnostic radiology and imaging.
- Acquire clinical skills necessary for diagnostic imaging.
- Participate in academic activities and teaching responsibilities.
- Assist in the training of interns, medical students, and nursing staff.
- Undertake a research project to complete an MMed degree.
- Supervise and assess diagnostic imaging practices.
- Ensure the safety of both personnel and patients during procedures.
- Contribute to departmental meetings and discussions.
- Engage in research and audits related to diagnostic radiology.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
- Current registration with the HPCSA for Independent Practice.
- A valid ATLS/ACLS certificate.
- Completion of Part 1 FCA Rad (Diag) SA.
- Experience in Internal Medicine or critical care under supervision of a Specialist.
- Effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Clinical experience since obtaining the MBChB degree.
- Knowledge of diagnostic radiology and safe use of imaging equipment.
