What You’ll Do

  • Provide clinical services in otorhinolaryngology, including patient care and surgical procedures.
  • Engage in teaching and mentorship for medical students and junior staff.
  • Conduct and participate in research projects to advance medical knowledge and practice.
  • Lead clinical governance initiatives to ensure compliance with health regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Groote Schuur, Red Cross, and New Somerset Hospitals.
  • Participate in the after-hours call system and fulfill commuted overtime requirements.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
  • Current registration with HPCSA for independent practice.
  • Completion of FCS (SA) Otorhinolaryngology part II Intermediate Exam.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in otorhinolaryngology after obtaining your MBChB degree.
  • Strong knowledge and skills in surgical practices relevant to otorhinolaryngology.
  • Ability to work across multiple hospital platforms to meet service requirements.
