What You’ll Do

  • Produce high-quality diagnostic radiographs while prioritizing patient care
  • Assist with various administrative tasks within the radiology department
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to foster a supportive work environment
  • Maintain and adhere to professional ethical standards and engage in self-development activities
  • Participate in continuing professional development initiatives to enhance your skills
  • Safely operate and care for radiographic equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols
  • Support the training of community service Radiographers and students in their practical education
  • Be involved in after-hours services as determined by the department’s needs

What You’ll Need

  • Appropriate qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Radiographer in Diagnostic Radiography
  • Registration with the HPCSA as a Diagnostic Radiographer
  • For Grade 1: No experience is required post-registration for RSA qualified applicants; 1-year relevant experience is needed for foreign qualified applicants
  • For Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years relevant experience required post-registration for RSA qualified applicants; 11 years for foreign qualified applicants
  • For Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years relevant experience required post-registration for RSA qualified applicants; 21 years for foreign qualified applicants
  • Ability to render a 24-hour service as required by the department
  • Competency in protocols, radiation protection, quality assurance, and equipment safety
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Familiarity with Patient Archiving and Communication Systems and Radiology Information Systems; Computed Tomography experience is a plus
