What You’ll Do

  • Maintain and develop the facility garden, ensuring it is well-kept and inviting.
  • Clean and tend to the surroundings of the hospital, including pathways and parking areas.
  • Prepare soil for planting and assist in planting trees, flowers, and shrubs.
  • Water gardens and manage the maintenance of trees, grass, and other plants.
  • Remove weeds from garden beds and assist with lawn care.
  • Move furniture and equipment as required for various tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations in all maintenance activities.
  • Report to your supervisor and perform any additional duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need

  • ABET Level 4 or NQF Level 1 to 3 qualifications.
  • No prior experience is necessary, making this an accessible position for many.
  • A physically strong and healthy disposition to handle the demands of the job.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
  • Willingness to rotate to different areas as needed.
  • Preferable experience in gardening or a formal cleaning environment.

Requirements

ABET level 4 or NQF level 1 to 3 with no experience.

Physical strong and healthy person.

Ability to cope with the physical demand of the post and various Weather condition.

Preferable garden experience, formal cleaning environment/ground /waste.

Ability to work in a team and under pressure.

Rotation to different areas when need arise.

Job Duties

Maintenance and development of facility garden.

Cleaning the surroundings.

Prepare soil for planting.

Maintenance of trees, flowers, shrubs and grass in garden.

Removing of weeds in beddings.

Moving of lawns, planting of trees and plants.

Watering of gardens, maintain/ cleaning of parking and pathways.

Moving of furniture as and when necessary.

Take care of garden, machinery and equipment.

Remove and collection of assets various areas.

Cleaning of gutters.

Adherence to safety regulations.

Execute any other duties delegated by supervisor.

Salary

R144 024 - R 169 656 per annum (Level 02)
