What You’ll Do

• Render holistic specialized nursing care to patients in the theatre.
• Collaborate with surgeons and anesthetists to ensure patient needs are met during procedures.
• Train and supervise junior nursing staff and student nurses.
• Assist the Operational Manager in managing theatre operations and maintaining a safe environment.
• Develop competencies in scrub, circulating, recovery room, and set room duties.
• Ensure fiscal control of materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Plan, provide, and supervise nursing activities in allocated specialty areas.
• Manage the smooth functioning of the instrument room and ensure efficient floor nurse duties.

What You’ll Need

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
• One year of post-basic qualification in Operating Theatre Nursing.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions and manage time effectively.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant Acts, procedures, and legislation.
