What You’ll Do

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a hospital setting.
• Maintain professional and ethical standards while utilising resources effectively.
• Participate in ongoing education, training, and research to enhance nursing practices.
• Support and collaborate with other nursing staff and healthcare professionals.
• Engage with patients and their families to provide holistic support and care.
• Adhere to legal frameworks and departmental policies related to nursing practice.
• Be flexible and willing to rotate within different units as required.

What You’ll Need

• A Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
• Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse or General Nurse.
• Experience requirements:
• Grade 1: None required
• Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years’ nursing experience post-registration
• Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years’ nursing experience post-registration
• Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Basic computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies of the Department of Health in the Western Cape.
