What You’ll Do
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a hospital setting.
- Maintain professional and ethical standards while utilising resources effectively.
- Participate in ongoing education, training, and research to enhance nursing practices.
- Support and collaborate with other nursing staff and healthcare professionals.
- Engage with patients and their families to provide holistic support and care.
- Adhere to legal frameworks and departmental policies related to nursing practice.
- Be flexible and willing to rotate within different units as required.
What You’ll Need
- A Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse or General Nurse.
- Experience requirements:
- Grade 1: None required
- Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years’ nursing experience post-registration
- Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years’ nursing experience post-registration
- Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies of the Department of Health in the Western Cape.
