The Department of Health is seeking a dedicated Professional Nurse Grade 1 to 2 (Specialty: Psychiatry) to join their team at the Klipfontein/Mitchells Plain Sub-structure Office. What You’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric care to clients, adhering to legal and professional standards.
- Support and supervise nursing colleagues in managing CMD patients within community settings.
- Participate in training sessions, research initiatives, and clinical governance meetings to enhance service quality.
- Manage human resources effectively and assist with supervisory responsibilities.
- Complete administrative tasks associated with clinical work to ensure efficient operations.
What You’ll Need
- A Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- A post-basic nursing qualification in Advanced Psychiatric Nursing Science or a relevant postgraduate diploma accredited by the SANC.
- For Grade 1: At least 4 years of relevant nursing experience post-registration.
- For Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years of relevant nursing experience post-registration, with at least 10 years in Psychiatry.
- A valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license and the willingness to assist at other clinics within the Sub-structure as needed.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of mental health legislation and policies.
