What You’ll Do
- Participate in the clinical management and nursing care of patients with mental health issues.
- Provide support and capacity development for primary healthcare personnel and nursing students.
- Promote community involvement in mental health care delivery.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance mental health services.
- Conduct research related to mental health and the effectiveness of service delivery.
What You’ll Need
- Basic R425 qualification or equivalent qualification allowing registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- Post-basic nursing qualification in Advanced Psychiatric Nursing Science or a 4-year Bachelor Degree in Nursing.
- Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in nursing for Grade 1; 14 years for Grade 2, including 10 years in Psychiatry.
- Valid driver’s license (Code B/EB).
- Good interpersonal, communication, and computer skills, as well as knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to mental health.
