What You’ll Do

  • Provide direction and supervision for the implementation of nursing plans to ensure quality patient care.
  • Implement and monitor standards, practices, criteria, and indicators for excellent nursing practice.
  • Practice nursing in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with nursing staff and other healthcare stakeholders.
  • Efficiently utilize available resources, including human, material, and physical assets, to enhance patient care.
  • Assist with supervisory duties and act as a shift leader when necessary, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Advocate for and respond to patient needs, promoting proper treatment and care.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver effective, equitable, and efficient nursing care.

What You’ll Need

  • Basic R425 qualification (Diploma/Degree in General Nursing and Midwifery) allowing registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
  • Current registration with the SANC.
  • Experience for Grade 1: None required.
  • Experience for Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years’ appropriate experience in nursing after registration.
  • Experience for Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years’ appropriate experience in nursing after registration.
  • Knowledge of nursing care processes and legal frameworks, including the Nursing Act and Health Act.
  • Strong communication skills and report writing abilities.
  • Proficiency in planning, organization, and computer literacy.
