What You’ll Do

  • Review and analyze geotechnical information to support licensing applications.
  • Develop methodologies, policies, and systems for geotechnical information products.
  • Gather and disseminate geotechnical data to assist in evaluating applications.
  • Implement a screening tool for engineering drawings accompanying waste applications.
  • Process registrations in accordance with National Norms and Standards for Waste.
  • Provide guidelines to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
  • Review geotechnical and climate change studies related to waste applications.
  • Develop guidelines for climate change considerations in waste activities.

What You’ll Need

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant qualification recognized by SAQA.
  • At least three years of post-qualification experience in a related field.
  • Compulsory registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer.
  • Strong understanding of the policy and legislative framework governing pollution and waste management.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to manage projects and policy matters effectively.
  • Knowledge of National Waste Management Strategy and relevant engineering standards.
  • A valid Driver’s license and willingness to travel.
