What You’ll Do
- Provide effective management and leadership in the Intensive Care Unit.
- Communicate effectively with patients, supervisors, and healthcare professionals.
- Manage resources efficiently, ensuring optimal utilization and supervision.
- Advocate for proper treatment and care, aligning with Batho Pele principles.
- Maintain clinical competence and implement scientific nursing principles.
- Oversee adherence to nursing legislation and ethical practices.
- Handle discipline and grievance procedures according to protocols.
- Supervise and participate in staff training and development programs.
- Monitor disaster management implementation and evaluate health promotion data.
- Support nursing services management by working weekends and night shifts as needed.
What You’ll Need
- Senior Certificate / Grade 12 plus Basic R425 qualification allowing registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- A post-basic nursing qualification in Intensive Care Nursing Science, accredited with SANC.
- Diploma/Degree in Nursing Administration and Management.
- Minimum of nine years experience in nursing, with significant experience in ICU.
- At least three years of management-level experience in a nursing context.
- Knowledge of nursing care processes, statutes, and relevant legal frameworks.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal abilities, including public relations and conflict resolution.
- Basic computer literacy for enhancing service delivery.
