What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage the Paediatric Surgical and Oncology Unit, ensuring high standards of patient care.
- Facilitate effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and manage resources to ensure efficient use of staff and materials.
- Advocate for patient rights and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Provide mentorship and training for nursing staff and nursing students.
- Implement disaster management strategies and health promotion activities.
- Maintain clinical governance and uphold nursing standards.
- Participate in weekend and night duties as needed to support nursing services.
What You’ll Need
- Senior Certificate/Grade 12 and Basic R425 qualification in nursing.
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- A post-basic qualification in Child Nursing or Oncology Nursing Science.
- Minimum of 9 years experience in nursing, with 5 years in a specialty area.
- At least 3 years of management experience in a nursing context.
- Strong knowledge of nursing care processes, legal frameworks, and public health strategies.
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer literacy to support service delivery.
