About the Opportunity
The Northern Cape Department of Sport, Arts and Culture is offering a 24-month internship programme aimed at providing graduates with valuable workplace experience. This programme is open to South African graduates who have not previously participated in an internship within a National or Provincial Government Department or State Institution. Successful candidates will gain hands-on experience in their field of study, working under the guidance of experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities
Interns will engage in structured workplace activities, assist with departmental projects, and participate in capacity-building initiatives. They will also carry out duties under supervision to gain practical experience aligned with their qualifications.
Requirements/Qualifications
Eligible applicants must be unemployed South African citizens with the relevant qualifications for their chosen internship. They must not have participated in a previous government internship and must submit proof of residence from the relevant Local Municipality or Traditional Authority. Specific qualifications and skills are required for each internship stream:
– Zoology: Bachelor of Science in Zoology, Biology, Ecology, or Conservation Biology (NQF Level 7). An Honours Degree is advantageous.
– Library & Archive Services: National Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Library and Information Science (NQF Level 6 or 7).
– Sport & Club Development: National Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Sport Management or Sport Science (NQF Level 6 or 7).
– Human Resource Utilisation and Development: National Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management or Development (NQF Level 6 or 7).
Benefits
Interns will receive a monthly stipend of R8 174.75.
