What You’ll Do
- Facilitate the preparation and submission of MEC reports regarding the state of municipalities.
- Monitor and evaluate municipal performance periodically to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Support municipalities in implementing their Performance Management Systems (PMS) annually.
- Assist municipalities with the individual implementation of performance management processes.
- Oversee the monitoring of employment contracts for senior managers in municipalities.
What You’ll Need
- Matric plus an undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) in Local Government, Public Management, Administration, or a related field recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Valid South African driver’s license (with exceptions for individuals with disabilities).
- In-depth knowledge of public service legislation and frameworks, including the Municipal Structures Act, MSA, and MFMA.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure, be self-motivated, and pay attention to detail.
