What You’ll Do

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to patients by diagnosing and treating psychiatric conditions.

  • Participate in training and educational programs for healthcare professionals to promote knowledge sharing.
  • Uphold the highest standards of medical practice and ensure compliance with health regulations and codes of conduct.
  • Engage in continuous professional development activities to maintain registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
  • Manage resources efficiently to provide cost-effective clinical services.

What You’ll Need

  • Appropriate qualification for registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner.
  • Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner.
  • Experience requirements vary by grade:
  • Grade 1: None after registration for SA qualified practitioners; 1 year for foreign qualified.
  • Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years of experience for SA qualified; 6 years for foreign qualified.
  • Grade 3: Minimum of 10 years of experience for SA qualified; 11 years for foreign qualified.
  • Strong clinical assessment and management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across disciplines.
  • Willingness to participate in after-hours call systems and commuted overtime.
