What You’ll Do

• Provide outreach and support to district hospitals and community health centres.
• Establish protocols for screening and assessment of mental health in children and adolescents.
• Ensure adherence to referral pathways and risk stratification methods.
• Offer clinical supervision and guidance to healthcare staff.
• Participate in scheduled training sessions for nursing, medical, and allied health professionals.

What You’ll Need

• An appropriate qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
• Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner.
• Relevant experience:
• Grade 1: None for SA-qualified employees; 1-year experience for foreign-qualified employees.
• Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years for SA-qualified; 6 years for foreign-qualified.
• Grade 3: Minimum of 10 years for SA-qualified; 11 years for foreign-qualified.
• Willingness to work shifts and after-hours, including participation in the Commuted Overtime system.
• A valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence.
• Competencies in clinical assessment and management of child and adolescent mental disorders.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and experience in delivering clinical services to children and adolescents.
