About the Role
The Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent (MISA) is seeking a dedicated Internal Auditor to join its team at the Head Office in Centurion, Gauteng. In this role, you will be an integral part of ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of our operations, contributing to the broader mission of improving public service delivery across South Africa. This position is crucial not only for compliance but also for enhancing the trust of the community in government services by ensuring that our financial practices are transparent and accountable.
As an Internal Auditor, you will engage in various activities including conducting audits, investigating processes, and providing insights that help our management make informed decisions. Your efforts will support MISA’s commitment to uphold the highest standards of governance, which directly benefits the citizens by ensuring that public resources are managed efficiently and responsibly.

What You’ll Do
- Assist with initial communication and background information gathering from auditees.
- Develop system descriptions, process flows, and audit programs.
- Conduct audits and investigations in line with established audit standards.
- Draft audit findings and engage in discussions with supervisors and management.
- Follow up on management actions related to internal audit recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with the quality assurance standards as per Treasury regulations and the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
What You’ll Need
- A 3-year National Diploma or Degree in Internal Auditing or an equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Internal Auditing.
- Strong competencies in service delivery innovation, problem-solving, and client orientation.
- Excellent communication skills and computer literacy.
- In-depth knowledge of operational and performance audits, risk management, and auditing practices.
