What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain guidelines and frameworks for nuclear compliance.
- Conduct pre-inspections prior to issuing authorisations for nuclear facilities.
- Execute inspections at nuclear and related facilities to monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
- Oversee compliance with issued authorisations and ensure adherence to nuclear legislation.
- Participate in International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspections to uphold global standards.
- Monitor implementation of safeguards by NECSA to ensure compliance with Nuclear Non-Proliferation obligations.
What You’ll Need
- A Bachelor of Science or Honours Degree in Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Nuclear Engineering (NQF Level 7) recognised by SAQA.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the nuclear industry or nuclear non-proliferation at a junior management or inspector level.
- Knowledge of nuclear policy, legislation, and energy systems, with a focus on non-proliferation.
- Proficiency in government processes and international obligations related to nuclear safety.
- Strong analytical thinking, communication, project management, and interpersonal skills.
- Competence in information collection and instruments calibration, along with good writing and organisational abilities.
