What You’ll Do

  • Conduct underground inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Compile detailed reports and maintain accurate records of inspections.
  • Review plans and records of surface and underground mines.
  • Investigate and make recommendations regarding surface utilization applications.
  • Process statutory applications related to mine surveying permissions and exemptions.
  • Serve on mine surveying related committees and participate in seminars.
  • Conduct practical mine surveying field tasks to support compliance efforts.

What You’ll Need

  • A National Diploma in Mine Surveying or Mineral Resource Management (NQF 6) with a Mine Surveyors Certificate of Competence.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience at a junior managerial level in Mine Surveying.
  • In-depth knowledge of mine health and safety regulations and legislation governing the mining industry.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven management and organizational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong analytical skills and the capacity to facilitate and implement solutions effectively.
