What You’ll Do
- Conduct environmental awareness and education activities to engage community groups and stakeholders.
- Implement environmental education programs and projects aligned with the Annual Performance Plan (APP).
- Develop and facilitate capacity-building initiatives to empower local residents and organizations.
- Ensure compliance with the National Environmental Management Act and other relevant environmental policies.
- Collaborate with schools and municipalities to enhance participation in environmental empowerment services.
- Maintain accurate performance reporting in line with public sector standards, including the Performance Management and Development System (PMDS).
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of a Grade 12 qualification and a recognized Bachelor’s Degree (NQF7) in Environmental Science or a related field.
- A valid driver’s license is essential for this role.
- Specialization in environmental education and/or social ecology is advantageous.
- Relevant work experience in environmental empowerment or education is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of environmental management policies and public service regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines and pressure.

Requirements
Grade 12 plus a recognised Bachelor’s Degree (NQF7) in environmental Science fields or related qualification, a valid driver’s license.A specialization 251 in environmental education and/or social ecology, as well as work experience in the environmental empowerment field will be an added advantage.
Skills And Competencies: Knowledge of National Environmental Management Act, Climate Change Act, Environmental Education policies, guidelines, norms and standards related to environmental prescripts.
Understanding of Public Services Regulatory Framework (Public Service Act, and Public Services Regulations Act and Public Finance Management Act), Ability to work independently and in multi-disciplinary team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as project administration.
Innovative, creative, and ability to operate Microsoft office programmes (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
Ability to work under pressure with strict timelines.
Job Duties
