What You’ll Do

• Assist engineers, technicians, and associates in both field and technical office activities.
• Promote safety practices in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate and update existing technical manuals and standard procedures to integrate new technology.
• Solve broad technological challenges using established techniques and procedures.
• Compile and submit comprehensive reports as required.
• Contribute to the technical/engineering operational plan with valuable insights.
• Develop, implement, and maintain databases related to engineering projects.
• Manage road infrastructure projects through six key stages as per ECSA guidelines.
• Conduct research and literature studies to enhance technical engineering knowledge.
• Liaise with relevant bodies and councils on engineering-related issues and compliance.

What You’ll Need

• National Senior Certificate plus a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering (B Tech).
• A minimum of three years’ post-qualification engineering experience in road infrastructure.
• Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technologist, or proof of submission for registration.
• A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and Public Service Regulations, including the Engineering Professional Act and National Land Transport Act.
• Proficiency in technical design and analysis, computer-aided engineering applications, and technical report writing.
• Strong problem-solving, project management, and interpersonal skills.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work under pressure.
