What You’ll Do
- Assist engineers, technicians, and associates in both field and technical office activities.
- Promote safety practices in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate and update existing technical manuals and standard procedures to integrate new technology.
- Solve broad technological challenges using established techniques and procedures.
- Compile and submit comprehensive reports as required.
- Contribute to the technical/engineering operational plan with valuable insights.
- Develop, implement, and maintain databases related to engineering projects.
- Manage road infrastructure projects through six key stages as per ECSA guidelines.
- Conduct research and literature studies to enhance technical engineering knowledge.
- Liaise with relevant bodies and councils on engineering-related issues and compliance.
What You’ll Need
- National Senior Certificate plus a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering (B Tech).
- A minimum of three years’ post-qualification engineering experience in road infrastructure.
- Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technologist, or proof of submission for registration.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and Public Service Regulations, including the Engineering Professional Act and National Land Transport Act.
- Proficiency in technical design and analysis, computer-aided engineering applications, and technical report writing.
- Strong problem-solving, project management, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work under pressure.
