What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement road management strategies across various government layers.
  • Facilitate detailed project planning for nationally driven road projects.
  • Manage inquiries and queries related to road infrastructure.
  • Oversee the development of road freight corridors and networks.
  • Provide a comprehensive road freight data management service.
  • Ensure the effective operation of the overload control network.
  • Support the integration of non-motorised transport (NMT) into public transport systems.
  • Monitor and evaluate rural road development programmes.
  • Develop and implement strategies for rural road connectivity.
  • Manage resources within the directorate to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.

What You’ll Need

  • A qualification at NQF level 7 in Civil Engineering, recognized by SAQA.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a middle/senior managerial role within road infrastructure development.
  • Strong knowledge of road infrastructure standards and guidelines.
  • Experience with the National Land Transport Act and related legislation.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including design and GIS tools.
  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
