What You’ll Do

  • Manage and coordinate economic research and statistical projects across the Branch.
  • Ensure accurate data collection, analysis, and dissemination for effective strategic planning.
  • Provide statistical expertise in rural development and the rural economy.
  • Maintain compliance with project management frameworks and governance standards.
  • Oversee the implementation of project management principles and best practices.
  • Develop and implement strategic and operational plans for economic research.
  • Audit project management documentation and processes for compliance with the Public Finance Management Act.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance reporting relationships and project outcomes.
  • Support the development of project plans, teams, and related documentation.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 Certificate and a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or Data Science (NQF Level 7).
  • A Nyukela certificate (Pre-entry Certificate to the SMS) must be submitted prior to appointment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience at a middle/senior managerial level in statistics or economics projects.
  • Knowledge of project management, budgetary planning, and expenditure reporting.
  • Proficiency in statistical software and data management techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
