What You’ll Do

  • Provide strategic leadership and overall management of the Department to ensure effective justice administration.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of legislation, legal services, and policies that promote constitutional democracy.
  • Direct court administration services, including overseeing lower court functions and the Integrated Criminal Justice System.
  • Manage services such as Master’s Services and Family Law Services, including trusts and guardianship administration.
  • Serve as principal adviser to the Executive Authority on departmental matters and strategic direction.
  • Ensure effective financial management and compliance with governance and regulatory standards.
  • Foster intergovernmental relations and strategic partnerships to promote constitutional values and social justice.

What You’ll Need

  • An NQF Level 8 qualification in Law, Public Administration, or a related field recognized by SAQA.
  • Admission as an Attorney or Advocate is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of ten years’ experience at a senior managerial level, with substantial experience in an executive leadership role within a complex organization.
  • Proven expertise in strategic planning, organizational transformation, and stakeholder management.
  • Extensive knowledge of constitutional and administrative law, public administration, and financial management within the public sector.
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
