What You’ll Do

• Establish and manage partnerships with stakeholders within the Economic Statistics Subsystem.
• Oversee capacity building initiatives for entities of the NSS.
• Identify and address data quality and capacity gaps across all data-producing entities.
• Ensure the implementation of clearance protocols for the Economic Statistics Subsystem.
• Lead the development and review of sector strategies and plans.
• Manage staff and resources within the Directorate effectively.

What You’ll Need

• A Bachelor’s degree or NQF 7 qualification in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or Econometrics.
• Training in Project Management and Statistical Analysis.
• Proficiency in SAS or other statistical packages.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience at a middle or senior managerial level, with relevant exposure.
• Extensive knowledge of official and national statistics, including census and survey methodologies.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
• A self-driven, innovative mindset with a focus on results and teamwork.
