What You’ll Do

• Manage the development and implementation of strategic frameworks for the digital economy.
• Conduct foresight and predictive analysis on emerging technologies and digital markets.
• Drive research initiatives to support digital economy policy development and decision-making.
• Monitor developments in technologies like artificial intelligence and blockchain and assess their economic impact.
• Develop tools to measure ICT access and usage among households and individuals.
• Facilitate collaboration with various stakeholders, including government departments and international partners.
• Oversee strategic programmes related to digital economy forecasting, ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation.
• Create knowledge products, reports, and policy briefs to inform executive management and governance structures.
• Provide strategic advice on aligning digital economy policies with national development plans.
• Manage financial resources and compliance, driving operational excellence within the department.

What You’ll Need

• A relevant NQF level 7 qualification in Economics, Econometrics, Public Administration, Developmental Studies, Business Administration, Statistics, or a recognized equivalent.
• A minimum of five years’ experience in ICT policy development at a middle or senior managerial level.
• Proficient in strategy and planning, people management, and program/project management.
• Strong technical skills in quantitative modeling, econometrics, predictive analytics, and technological foresight.
• Experience in socio-economic impact analysis and digital policy development.
