What You’ll Do

• Establish and manage partnerships with relevant stakeholders in the Basic Services and Infrastructure Sector.
• Oversee capacity-building initiatives for entities under the National Statistics System (NSS).
• Identify and address data quality and capacity gaps for all data-producing entities.
• Ensure the implementation of clearance protocols for Basic Services and Infrastructure Sector statistics.
• Lead the development and review of sector strategies and plans.
• Manage the resources and staff within the directorate to achieve set objectives.

What You’ll Need

• A Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Data Science, Statistics, Demography, Population Studies, Development Studies, Geography, or GIS.
• Training in Project Management and Statistical Analysis.
• Experience using statistical packages like SAS or similar.
• At least 5 years of experience at a middle or senior managerial level, with exposure to relevant fields.
• Extensive knowledge of official and national statistics, including census/surveys or administrative data collection.
• Strong understanding of statistical legislation and data management systems.
• Creative, self-driven, and results-oriented with a strong team-oriented mindset.
