What You’ll Do

  • Conduct technical analysis and monitor compliance related to SOE governance.
  • Prepare submissions and reports for the oversight of corporate governance frameworks.
  • Benchmark policies and standards relevant to governance of SOEs.
  • Develop and review the DCDT SOE governance framework and operational procedures.
  • Coordinate the appointment and remuneration processes for SOE board members.
  • Analyze submissions for the appointment and remuneration of top executives.
  • Facilitate the Minister’s participation in Annual General Meetings of SOEs.
  • Implement processes for the tabling of annual reports in Parliament.
  • Conduct board and committee evaluations and monitor governance improvement plans.
  • Investigate allegations of irregularities or misconduct within SOEs.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate NQF level 7 qualification in Auditing, Law, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a relevant equivalent.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in Corporate Governance, Compliance, or related fields at Assistant Director level.
  • At least three years’ experience in an oversight environment related to corporate governance or auditing.
  • Knowledge of the Companies Act 71 of 2008 and good corporate governance practices.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in report writing and verbal communication.
