What You’ll Do
- Develop national departments’ financial outcome data sets and administer the compilation of a database of annual financial statement actual expenditures and receipts.
- Verify data accuracy and prepare relevant summaries for national departmental receipts at year-end.
- Attend monthly Section 32 meetings to discuss data inconsistencies with the Office of the Accountant-General.
- Compile datasets and tables for key budget documents including the MTBPS, AENE, ENE, and Budget Review.
- Perform trend analysis for budget publications and assist with the verification of chapters prior to publication.
- Arrange and participate in weekly data team meetings, providing insights and reconciling discrepancies in departmental data.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 certificate and a minimum Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Accounting, Public Finance, Economics, or related fields.
- At least four years of relevant experience, with two years at an Assistant Director level or equivalent in budgeting processes.
- Strong knowledge of economic reporting formats and the International Monetary Fund’s Government Finance Statistics classification system.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting purposes.
