What You’ll Do
- Evaluate and analyse economic and socio-economic parameters within the provincial and macro-economic context.
- Conduct research and maintain updated socio-economic indicators for departmental publications.
- Support the Deputy Director by writing chapters for research publications in the Macro-Economic Analysis unit.
- Perform econometric modelling to inform budget management and policy decisions.
- Provide economic information in response to ad hoc requests, ensuring timely and accurate data delivery.
- Stay updated on local and international economic trends to anticipate their impact on the provincial economy.
What You’ll Need
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Economics, Econometrics, or Finance at NQF level 8 (e.g., Honours Degree).
- At least 3 years of functional experience in Economics, Finance, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), Treasury regulations, and Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and economic variables.
- Effective communication skills to convey economic insights to various stakeholders.
