What You’ll Do

  • Monitor compliance with financial management frameworks and annual reporting standards.
  • Lead the management of the sub-directorate and oversee team performance.
  • Review and report on the quality of annual financial statements from municipalities.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and facilitate compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Coordinate accounting services and provide support to municipalities and municipal entities.
  • Actively participate in intergovernmental relations structures, fostering collaboration and communication.

What You’ll Need

  • NQF Level 7 Degree in Accounting, Auditing, Internal Auditing, Cost Management, or Cost Accounting.
  • 3 to 5 years of supervisory or people management experience at a junior management level.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in municipal accounting and financial reporting.
  • At least 3 years of experience in local government or Provincial Treasuries’ MFMA Unit in a similar role.
