The National Skills Fund (NSF) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Director: Legal Governance Risk and Compliance to join their team in Pretoria. What You’ll Do
- Advise the NSF on legal and litigation matters.
- Draft and review legal documents including contracts, agreements, and internal policies.
- Develop operational plans regarding legal matters affecting the NSF.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive legal opinions and comments.
- Conduct internal training on legal and regulatory topics for NSF staff.
- Manage relationships with third-party legal advisors and consultants.
- Interpret legal information and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Participate in committees and contribute to governance discussions.
- Negotiate and draft documentation for transactions with external parties.
- Act as custodian for all contracts and agreements, ensuring they meet legal standards.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge management system for legal materials.
- Implement and manage the risk assessment process for the NSF.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate LLB degree and admission as an attorney or advocate.
- A minimum of five to eight years of experience in legal, governance, risk, and compliance.
- At least five years of experience at a junior management level in the public or private sector.
- A qualification in Risk Management and/or Compliance is advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent research and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in computer skills and familiarity with budgeting and financial management.
- Ability to work as part of a team while maintaining integrity and a customer-focused approach.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
- Adaptability and a commitment to meeting tight deadlines.
