What You’ll Do

  • Analyze complex data to inform strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient Labour Market Information System (LMIS).
  • Create LMI frameworks and policies to support research initiatives.
  • Conduct statistical analysis and interpretation of data.
  • Develop research reports and coordinate research studies on labour market trends.
  • Manage and facilitate innovation projects to optimize resource allocation.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders across sectors.
  • Track and report on the implementation of approved research findings.
  • Stay updated on innovations in skills development and lead the department’s efforts in this area.

What You’ll Need

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma (NQF Level 7) in Statistics, Econometrics/Economics, or Development Studies.
  • A minimum of three to five years of junior management experience in research analysis related to labour markets and education.
  • Strong technical competence in research design, data analysis, and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Proficient in statistical software such as EViews, Stata, SPSS, and others.
  • Good understanding of survey design and sampling methodologies.
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, including the Skills Development Act and the Public Service Act.
  • Excellent computer skills and a valid driver’s license.
