What You’ll Do

  • Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of security software, including firewalls and antivirus solutions.
  • Evaluate and oversee network security resources and vendor compliance with departmental policies.
  • Identify and address potential areas of non-compliance and security vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans for identified security issues.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on information security best practices.
  • Conduct information security awareness programs to promote a culture of security within the department.
  • Ensure that departmental infrastructure maintains the necessary level of protection for secure operations.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 Certificate and a National Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, IT Security Engineering, Informatics (NQF Level 6), or a related qualification.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in junior management roles within ICT infrastructure, application development, and ICT security.
  • Strong communication, investigative, analytical, and management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using a computer for extended periods.
  • A valid driver’s license is essential.
