What You’ll Do

  • Develop national guidelines and frameworks for the Healthy Lifestyle programme.
  • Coordinate and provide technical guidance for health policy development and review.
  • Facilitate alignment with WHO recommendations and national health priorities.
  • Manage stakeholder consultation processes to validate health-related interventions.
  • Provide technical support to provinces for implementing health programmes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of healthy lifestyle initiatives.
  • Compile reports on programme performance to inform planning and decision-making.
  • Strengthen collaboration mechanisms across sectors to support health interventions.
  • Represent the department in relevant technical forums and committees.
  • Manage human and operational resources effectively.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 certificate and an NQF 7 undergraduate qualification in Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Health Promotion, or Nursing.
  • At least three years’ experience as an Assistant Director in health promotion or related fields.
  • Knowledge of relevant Acts, regulations, and policies within the Department of Health.
  • Strong understanding of health promotion principles and determinants of health.
  • Experience in public health programme planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Excellent technical and analytical thinking, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • A valid driver’s license.
