What You’ll Do

  • Develop and review financial accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Manage departmental revenue collection and debt management.
  • Oversee bank account reconciliations and key account management.
  • Implement all accounting and bookkeeping functions.
  • Manage the department’s expenditure and payment systems.
  • Administer salary processes and cash flow management.
  • Ensure effective internal financial controls and adherence to financial policies.
  • Supervise month-end and financial year closures, including payroll.
  • Prepare Annual Financial Statements for the department.
  • Address audit queries and accounting inquiries from National Treasury.
  • Provide support to the National House of Traditional & Khoi-San Leaders.

What You’ll Need

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Financial Management (NQF level 7) and 5 years of relevant experience at junior management or Assistant Director level.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Strong competencies in strategic capacity, financial management, and program/project management.
  • Skills in problem-solving, analysis, and client orientation.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy and effective communication, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations, along with expertise in accounting practices.
